Dermal Fillers & Facial Contouring
Facial proportions and volume change over time. Dermal fillers may help replace lost volume or enhance selected contours, with treatment planned around your individual features and goals. At Ivy Cross Aesthetics, we begin with a consultation to assess your concerns and discuss whether filler is appropriate.
What are dermal fillers?
We use hyaluronic acid dermal fillers—injectable gels containing a substance naturally present in the skin. Different formulations offer different levels of softness and support, allowing product selection to suit the area and intended outcome.
Choosing the right approach
You may benefit from treatment in one area, a staged plan involving several areas, or a different approach altogether. We assess the face as a whole rather than automatically filling each visible line.
Where concerns relate mainly to hydration, texture or skin quality, we may discuss skin rejuvenation options instead. Choosing no treatment is always an option.
What happens at your consultation?
We review your medical history, previous cosmetic treatments and expectations. We assess facial proportions, symmetry, skin quality and the areas that concern you.
If treatment is appropriate, we explain the proposed product, areas, estimated amount, costs, likely outcome and alternatives. You have time to consider the plan before deciding.
Areas we can assess
Marionette lines
The lines extending downwards from the corners of the mouth. Selected treatment may soften these lines, depending on their cause and the surrounding tissue.
Lips (subtle)
To enhance definition, address some asymmetry or add carefully considered volume. Your existing lip shape and proportions guide the plan.
Cheeks
The folds running from the sides of the nose towards the mouth. Filler may soften their appearance, although assessment of the surrounding face is important before recommending treatment.
Chin
To improve definition or soften selected hollows alongside the chin. Filler has limitations where skin laxity or heavier jowls are the main concern.
Nasolabial folds
To address selected areas of volume loss and enhance cheek contours. Cheek treatment does not necessarily correct lower-face lines or loose skin.
Jawline & pre-jowl
To enhance chin projection or definition and improve the relationship between the chin and other facial features.

Results and limitations
Results vary between individuals and treatments. Some changes may be visible immediately, but swelling can temporarily affect the appearance. We explain when to assess the settled result and whether a review is needed. Filler is temporary. Its duration depends on the product, treatment area and individual factors. It cannot reproduce a surgical lift or guarantee perfect symmetry.
Risks and recovery
Possible effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness and temporary unevenness. Other complications include infection, persistent lumps and delayed inflammatory reactions.
Rare but serious complications can occur if filler blocks a blood vessel, potentially causing tissue damage, blindness or stroke. These risks, warning signs and arrangements for urgent assistance are discussed before consent.
You will receive aftercare instructions and advice on when to contact the clinic.
